Noise

Noise is probably the most widespread and underestimated of workplace hazards and noise risk assessments can be very complex. As a result, our expert consultants use only modern, data logging sound level meters with which measurements are taken to assess the average exposure an individual is subjected to throughout the day and also measure any ‘peaks’ of noise which could result in instant hearing damage.

Vibration

Anyone who is regularly and frequently exposed to high levels of hand arm vibration (HAV) may result in a range of health effects collectively known as Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome or HAVS. Workers may be exposed to HAV when operating hand held power tools such as angle grinders, powered saws, pneumatic equipment or when holding materials being worked by machines such as pedestal grinders. The most well-known health effect is vibration white finger, but other effects include damage to joints, muscles and tendons, to the vascular or blood circulatory system, and to the sensory nerves in the hands and arms.

Our expert consultants will carry out a detailed risk assessment and provide advice and support on:

Reducing the noise/vibration source that produces those risks;
Recommending noise/vibration employee exposure controls and where required suitable personal protective equipment;
Provide your employees with information, instruction and training, and recommend health surveillance where there is a continued risk to health.
Ensuring that you comply with all the legal requirements;
